Corona cases: At this crucial time, Delhi on Friday recorded 366 fresh COVID-19 cases and zero death, while the positivity rate rose further to 3.95 per cent. With this, Delhi’s COVID-19 tally has increased to 18,67,572. The death toll stands at 26,158, according to health bulletin
Students, parents have taken to micro-blogging site Twitter with their demands for cancelling the board exams, following MCQ pattern, home centres and other alternative routes.
Can the Exam Centre Change if Covid Case is Found?
As per the latest COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Delhi Government, any school where a coronavirus case is found has to be closed down completely. This policy has again raised a concern among parents, students and exam organizers as to what action will be taken in case a COVID-19 positive case is found at the exam centre. It is being suggested that in such a case the concerned exam centre should be cancelled and a new exam centre to be allotted for the rest of the students. On the other hand, there are also suggestions that to avoid any further spread of the virus, exams for students appearing from such this centre should be postponed to a later date
Demand by Students for Cancellation
Several CBSE, ICSE, and ISC students have been running online campaigns demanding the cancellation of Term 2 Exams altogether. Citing health concerns and the risk of contracting COVID-19 during the examination, students have been urging CBSE Board to cancel the upcoming CBSE 10th and 12th Term 2 Exams 2022.
Students stated that safety precautions like mask mandates are very difficult to be followed, especially given the intense heatwave. Many students have said that ensuring that all students are wearing face masks during the entire duration of the exam will be a difficult task for the invigilators.
