Que-1: The rate of change of magnitude of the electric field in the empty space between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor is 4 x 10^8 Vm^-1 s^-1. If the area of each plate of the capacitor is 0.01 m², calculate the displacement current.

Ans- We have

dE/dt = 4 x 10^8 V m^-1 s^-1   , A = 0.01 m²
Then displacement current
Id = εo . A . dE/dt
= 8.85 x 10^-12 x 0.01 x 4 x 10^8
= 3.54 x 10^-5 A
