Que-1 :If a candidate has passed in all subjects can he/she appear for the examination again for three subjects in the following year?

Ans:-  Yes, the candidate may apply and appear for one or more subjects offered by him/her in the ISC Examination in the following year. The candidate will be awarded a Supplementary Pass Certificate. The candidate will have to give a written application to the Principal of the school, who will register him/her online for the entry to the ISC Examination.

Que-2 :- Is there any procedure for State Board students passing Class X, to give Class XII Examination privately from Council for the ISC Examination?

Ans:-  No, there is no such procedure.

Que-3 :-I passed my ISC (Class XII) Examination in the year 2016. My overall percentage is 59.4 i.e. 3 marks less than 60%. I want to improve my percentage. How can I apply? Can I give improvement examination in few/ all subjects?

Ans:-  You can re-appear in some/all of your papers to improve your grade. You will have to give a written application to the Principal of the school, who will register you online for the entry to the ISC Examination.

Que-4 :-I will be appearing for the supplementary examination in Physics at the ISC level. Please let me know whether I will have to take the Practical Examination.

Ans:-  Yes, you have to appear for both Physics Theory and Practical Examinations.

Que-5 :-I have passed Class X Examination from CBSE/NIOS/State Board after giving the Compartment Examination, can I get admission in Class XI of ISC?

Ans:-  No, you cannot get admission to Class XI of ISC. Please note that a candidate who has passed the Class X of another Examination Board by way of two examinations/compartmental examinations is not eligible for pursing the +2 courses of the ISC (XII) Examination.

Que-6 :-I have passed my ISC (Class XII) Board Examination. I wish to improve my grades in two subjects. Can I appear from a Centre other than my original School? Kindly inform me of the procedure for the same.

Ans:-  Yes, you can appear for the ISC Examination from an Examination Centre other than your Original School. You will have to give a written application to the Principal of the school from where you wish to appear for the ISC Examination, who will register you online for the entry to the ISC Examination.

Que-7 :-I have not been awarded a Pass Certificate in my last ISC Examination. I wish to re-appear for the ISC Examination this year. Can I appear from a Centre other than my Original School? Kindly inform me of the procedure for the same.

Ans:-  Yes, you can appear for the ISC Examination from an Examination Centre other than your Original School. You will have to give a written application to the Principal of the School from where you wish to appear for the ISC Examination, who will register you online for the entry to the ISC Examination.

Que-8 :-If a candidate, currently studying in Class XII has six subjects (English and five electives, one of which is Mathematics) and wants to drop one (Mathematics), is it permissible? What is the procedure?

Ans:-  Please approach the Head of your School about your request. The Head of the School will then inform the Council that you wish to drop a subject and the reason for doing so. Please note, for the ISC Examination, you have to opt for a minimum of four subjects of which English is compulsory. Please note that the students are however advised to study a minimum of five subjects (English plus four subjects).

Que-9 :-I would like to inform you that my grandson took his admission this year in the Science group of your Class XI and at that time he opted for Biology as his additional subject. As he is keen in studying Computer in which he is showing considerable interest he is eager to change his additional subject from Biology to Computer. I shall be grateful if you kindly provide me with your procedures or rules to be followed for making such change.

Ans:-  Please note that as ISC is a two years’ course, study change of subject after the candidate has been registered, is not permitted.

Que-10 :-I have passed Class XII from CBSE with 61% marks. I want to improve my marks. Can I reappear for Class XII by taking the ISC Examination?

Ans:-  No, as ISC is a two years’ course, there is no provision for admitting candidates from other Examination Boards directly in Class XII of ISC.

Que-11 :-I passed out ISC Examination in the year 2013 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. I could not clear one subject (Mathematics) & Passed in the remaining five subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Hindi) and have also completed graduation from a recognized university. Now by anyway is it possible for me to clear the Mathematics paper.

Ans:-  Yes, you can appear for the ISC Examination in the subject Mathematics. Please note that you will have to study the syllabus prescribed for the current academic year. You will have to give a written application to the Principal of the School from where you wish to appear for the ISC Examination, who will register you online for the entry to the Examination.

Que-12 :-I appeared for the ISC Last Year examination, and till date I have not yet received the Pass Certificate. what should I do?

Ans:-  You must first contact the School from where you had appeared for the ISC examination and collect the same. Please note that if the school has lost/misplaced the Pass Certificate, the Council cannot issue a Duplicate Pass Certificate. You may request the Council for a Certifying Statement of Examination Result. The application for this is to be made on – line.

Que-13 :-I would like to know whether a student passing his/her Class XI from one city can take admission in Class XII in an ISC school in another city.

Ans:-  Yes, it is possible for a student to transfer from one Council’s affiliated School to another subject to fulfilling certain conditions as laid down by the Council. The Principal of the admitting school should apply online seeking prior approval of the Transfer Admission with the details and relevant documents of the case, so that the Council may advise accordingly. Please note that the Council does not correspond directly with candidates, parents or guardians in any matter, whatsoever it may be.

Que-14 :-Can you please send me the Syllabus and the Rules and Regulations of all subjects for the ISC 2022-23 examination?

Ans:-  The Syllabuses & Regulations are available on the Council’s website www.cisce.org.

Que-15 :-How can I get my Registration Card for applying for a transfer to another school?

Ans:-  The Registration Card can be downloaded through the CAREERS Portal by the Principal. The Principal can then attest the same and hand it over to you for further use.

Que-16 :-I have not been awarded a Pass Certificate in my ISC Examination. I wish to re-appear for the ISC next year Examination. Will I have to appear for all the subjects offered by me for the ISC last year Examination or only in those in which I did not score the pass marks?

Ans:-  You will have to re-appear in at least four subjects – English (Compulsory) plus any three from the list of subjects offered by you for the ISC last Year  Examination. Please note that the responsibility for correct selection of subjects to meet University or professional requirements of a candidate will be that of the Head of the School. Also note that you will have to follow the Syllabuses & Regulations prescribed by the Council for the ISC next year Examination.

  1. I have passed class 12 ISC by 48percentage I want to give improvement exam so I can join college or wiat for improvement exam

    • you can join collage and improvement exam simultaneously. this improvement exam will held with 2024 board exam and a separate marksheet will be given.
