Chandrayan-3 successfully completed its fifth and final Earth-bound orbit-raising manoeuvre on July 25, marking a crucial phase of the spacecraft’s lunar trajectory. Now, India’s third lunar mission is on course for its journey towards the Moon’s south pole, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said.
On Tuesday, July 25, between 2 and 3 pm, the Chandrayaan-3 successfully completed the fifth orbit-raising manoeuvre, after performing the fourth on July 20. The next firing, the TransLunar Injection (TLI), is planned for August 1, between midnight and 1 am, ISRO tweeted.
Soft Landing of Chandrayan 3 is A Challenge
According to press released , the main crucial face of this mission is soft landing on moon surface. There are many difficulties to complete the soft and safe landing of the satellite. The speed of Chandrayan should be a bit slower during landing but it is not possible easily. Speed of satellite may be gradually decrease before soft landing.
