CISCE NEP Update: Five New Vocational Courses Will Start soon for ICSE and ISC student. The objective of the board is to provide skill based education to the students under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Under this, new courses are being prepared at every level. Under the five vocational courses of ICSE, which will be taught, the subjects of Assistant Hair Stylist, Assistant Therapist, Basic Data Operator, Dietetic Aid and Cashier are included. The field in which the student is interested can choose the related course.

CISCE NEP Update: In schools run by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), now students will be able to learn hairstyling along with studies. Students will also be given marks for this. The board has released five vocational courses for class nine and 10.

The subjects that will be taught under the five vocational courses of ICSE are Assistant Hair Stylist, Assistant Therapist, Basic Data Operator, Dietetic Aid and Cashier.
Interested Student Can Choose Course
According to the president of Schools Association Gorakhpur, Ajay Shahi, the board has prepared vocational courses keeping in view the interest of the students along with studies. The field in which the student will be interested can choose the course related to it.
These courses have been released keeping in mind the session 2025. Guidelines related to this, question paper, syllabus of question paper and how many marks of written and how many marks of practical examination will be there have all been uploaded on the website of the board.
Benefits of These Vocational Courses
Assistant Hair Stylist: Students opting for Assistant Hair Stylist subject will be given knowledge about basic hair care, protection. Along with this, students will also get training in shampooing, conditioning, blow dry, hair cutting, designing.
Assistant Beauty Therapist: Students opting for Assistant Beauty Therapist stream will be exposed to various beauty products.
Basic Data Entry Operator: Similarly, the system of entering data in computer database will be taught under the subject of Basic Data Entry Operator.
Dietetic Ed : Students choosing the Dietetic Ed subject will be given exposure as a dietitian. Along with this, the methods of preparing and serving food will also be told.
Cashier : The student opting for the cashier subject will be given bar code as well as other information including all modes of payment, preparation of cash register, record of cash received. There will be 50 marks written and 50 marks practical in the question paper of all the subjects.
