CISCE Board Exams Not Cancelling : Supreme Court rejects plea Today after hearing

CISCE Board exams for students of Class 10, 12 will be conducted as pe the slated schedule that is from April 26. Board exam cancellation plea is rejected by the Supreme Court today.

CISCE Sem-2 Court Rejected the Plea :

The Supreme Court on Wednesday, February 23 while hearing a plea seeking cancellation of offline examinations for Class 10 ICSE and class 12 ISC conducted by the CISCE and other central and state boards said “Such petitions mislead students creating a false hope.”

The Court further added, “only if these decisions are against any Act or regulation can a petition be filed challenging the same as such PIL cannot be maintained at this stage

The plea has been filed by a child rights activist and a students’ union from Odisha. The petition also seeks an alternative assessment mechanism as formulated in the past year for admission to undergraduate (UG) courses

CISCE Term-2 Board Exam 2022 Cancellation:

Chief Justice of India NV Ramana accepted the request for urgent listing of the writ petition. The matter will now be heard by a bench of Justice AM Khanwilkar.

Requested Alternative Assessment Methods instead of Written Exams-CISCE

The petition filed by students of 15 states has sought the top court’s intervention against the board exams of the CISCE, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and other state boards. The petitioners also requested alternative assessment methods instead of written exams.

CISCE will conduct term 2 final exams in Last April according official notice dated 14th February . Both the boards will announce the final results, mentioning ‘pass’ or ‘fail’ status, after term 2 examinations.

Preboard Guideline for 2022 Exam

In a recent notification Dated 14th February 2022, the CISCE has asked schools not to conduct pre-boards for semester 2 exams, unless schools have completed and revised ICSE (Class 10) and ISC (Class 12) syllabi.
