Ans; West Bengal receives rainfall from the summer monsoons much before Uttar Pradesh. Due to its proximity to the Bay of Bengal, West Bengal experiences the onset of the monsoon season earlier than regions further inland, such as Uttar Pradesh
(b) Mawsynram is the rainiest place in the world
Ans: It receives the majority of its rainfall from the Bay of Bengal branch of the Indian monsoon. The Bay of Bengal branch carries more moisture to the northeastern states causing heavy rainfall there.
(c) Himalayas act as a climate divide
