100x+15x / 100 = 51750

115x= 51750×100

x = 5175000 /115

x = 45000, so, option (a) is correct.

Answer- Let total number of examinees be x.

failed students = 100 – 95 = 5% , which is 36

Therefore, 5% of x = 36

5x/100 = 36

5x=3600

x=3600/5,  x=720 students.

so, option (c) is correct.

Answer- Let the value be x

x – (15% * x) = 51000

= x – (15/100 * x) = 51000

= x – 3x/20 = 51000

(20x – 3x) /20 = 51000

17x/20 = 51000

x = 51000 * 20/17

x = 3000 × 20

Hence = Rs. 60000

so, option (d) is correct.
