The CISCE is going for tremendous change in question paper pattern as traditional method of taking exam is not as much useful for the development of student. therefore council has taken a decision over the topics and wishes a unique exam compare to other educational board in India.

CISCE Exam Pattern Changed: for ICSE / ISC Exam of 2024

CISCE Exam Pattern Changed: According to latest report, The council’s planned change in exam pattern is in keeping with the roadmap set by the National Education Policy 2020. The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), too, has begun to emphasise questions that require greater analytical rigour in its ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 board exam.

More Critical and Analytical Questions in CISCE Board Exam

As per latest report declare on tuesday at KOLKATA that Students appearing for their ICSE and ISC examinations from 2024 onwards will be set questions that require greater analytical skill, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE), which conducts the examinations.

CISCE Specimen Paper Releasing Soon with Critical Thinking Questions

“There will be an increase in critical thinking questions in the 2024 board examinations,” the council declared in a notice issued on Tuesday. Model question papers will be uploaded soon on the council’s website. Schools have been advised to integrate the new pattern of questions in formative and summative assessments so that students are prepared in time for their boards, “the council has said”.

Application of Concepts and Critical Thinking

“CISCE plans to gradually familiarise teachers and students with questions that require understanding and application of concepts and critical thinking,” read the notice signed by Gerry Arathoon, CISCE’s chief executive and secretary.

“These items may also be used as practice questions in class-rooms or as part of schools’ internal examinations. The eventual goal is to enable students to go beyond rote-learning and memorisation of facts and move towards development of conceptual understanding.”

Why Council Taken Such Tough Decision?

Expert told the reason  If students only rote-learn, their knowledge does not increase,  At the end of the day, we have to use our analytical skills to be able to understand what’s happening around us. These are open-ended questions and children will have to apply their mind and use analytical skills to answer them.

Student Reaction Over the Decision

The decision has been taken on tuesday on 13th June and there is school holidays as summer vacation therefore student reaction could not available currently. but we will soon publish student reaction over the issue as soon as school reopens after summer break.
