In the following problems, determine if the sentence is a statement. Classify each sentence that is a statement as simple or compound. If compound, give the components.
Que-1: Open the door.

Sol: It is an imperative sentence so it does not represents a statement.

Que-2: 5 is a prime number.

Sol: It is a statement.

Sol:  It is not a statement as it is an Interrogative sentence.

Que-4: Every rectangle is a square.

Sol: It is a statement.

Que-5: Today is Sunday and tomorrow is Monday.

Sol: It is a compound statement as its component statement are;
(i) Today is Sunday
(ii) Tomorrow is Monday.

Que-6: May you live long!

Sol: It is not a statement. It is an exclamatory sentence.

Que-7: Rekha is studying in class eleven and she has to offer 5 subjects.

Sol: It is a compound statement and its components are ;

(ii) She has to offer 5 subjects.
