School Admission Rule 2024-25: The new session 2024-25 will start in Delhi schools from April and the Delhi Education Directorate has issued new guidelines regarding the admission process.

In the academic session 2023-24, the Directorate of Education had ended the ‘No Detention Policy’ for Classes 5 and 8, hence there is a need to revise the policy for Classes 6 and 8. Admission Process of Class 6 Would be affected

The Directorate of Education has issued these guidelines for all government and government-aided schools. The new session will have some impact on the Class 6 admission process as students from two backgrounds will take admission.

Students who have studied from a recognized school/government school till class 5 or a student who has not gone to school and wants direct admission in class 6. The Directorate of Education says that criteria have been set to ensure that these children come at the same level.

On the Basis of transfer certificate/migration certificate

Students who have studied Class 5 from a recognized school, i.e. those who have been promoted or passed Class 5, should be considered on the basis of their marksheet and transfer certificate/migration certificate.

Who Can Apply for Direct Admission in Class 6

The advisory release is stud-friendly because If a student has not studied Class 5 from a recognized school, but is aged 10 to 12 years, he/she can apply for admission in Class 6 under the Right to Education Act. Students can apply to schools near their home. The rules for admission for classes Nursery to Class 5 and Classes 7 and 8 will remain the same as before.
