Best Tips for Choosing Right Course After 10th, 12th

Some common questions that student have in their minds are:

Deciding the Aim: This is the best way of choosing any course. Moreover, those who have any career goal or aim, they know even before class 12th what they want to do. Even if you haven’t made any clear aim before class 12th, make one now. Having a goal will show you the right path and will also shortlist the options. We suggest students decide on their goals in class 12th only, if not before.

Consider your Interests: Consider your interests and make a list of your likings i.e. the subjects which you like and want to study in-depth. When you will shortlist the subjects, you can look for the courses in those particular subjects. Make a list of 10 to 15 options that match your interest. Don’t hesitate to include subjects which you haven’t studied in class 12th but are interested in pursuing. You just need to do a little study about these subjects (to check if they interest you)

Uncover your Personality:  Personality is a very complex term. In the simplest of words, it is one’s pattern of behavior over an extended period of time. Some people have a sociable personality, others may be a bit attention seeking. When selecting a stream, it is essential to look underneath our superficial behavior and realize what subjects would satisfy our whims in the long run.

Take up subjects you can learn:  Generally we look at Aptitude as a single attribute. But there are in fact a number of aptitudes that are required to study a certain subject. Taking up those subjects that you possess the aptitude for, works in your favor by enhancing your chances of success later in life. So remember to play to your strengths and aim not for the best, but the best for you.

Emotional Intelligence: We are often trapped in situations, good or bad, due to emotional influences. And this influence is seen on our academics and career too. It’s important to understand the components of emotion, and how good you are at handling those components. So before jumping into a stream that requires much empathy or conflict handling on your part, ensure that you are ready for it.

Conclusion:  you have shortlisted many options, analyze each option in your list thoroughly. Check for the facts like eligibility for the course, entrance exams/ admission process, top colleges, drawbacks, opportunities, growth, salary, etc related to each of the options to make a better decision.
